GoTrive: The Fiat 500 Evolution — Tabletop Commercial & Practical Effects
Crafted for the automotive platform GoTrive, this commercial spot celebrates the historical evolution of the iconic Fiat 500. While initially conceptualized as a traditional stop-motion piece, we pivoted to a more organic, in-camera approach to achieve a fluid and dynamic visual rhythm.
Embracing the art of practical effects, we engineered a custom tabletop setup—ingeniously repurposing a treadmill to act as a continuous tracking road while manipulating high-fidelity scale models via a specialized rigging system. This hands-on technique, executed in collaboration with Marti, successfully generated the illusion of authentic, real-world driving physics on a miniature scale.
The final film is a visually striking and highly inventive piece that seamlessly merges nostalgic charm with technical ingenuity, offering a captivating homage to a motoring classic.
